Eat When Your Baby Eats
Babies keep a steady stream of nourishment and energy by eating every 3-4 hours, perhaps a little longer for older babies. Instead of the typical three big meals, with this diet you should eat when your baby does but eat smaller portions.
Eat With Your Baby's Dish
A major issue with weight gain is the fact that typical portion sizes have grown out of control. Just look at any chain restaurant meal, and you'll see that. While it might sound crazy, that baby bowl probably isn't all that far off on many portions.
An actual pasta portion is around 1/4 cup, four ounces. That's the size of a typical baby food jar! An ice cream serving is the same size. While you should eat more than a 1/2 cup of pasta as a meal, have each part of your meal in a baby bowl to keep your portion sizes under control. If you are still breastfeeding, you should of course eat the required calories.
Indulge on Your Baby's Treats
We all need a little something sweet and indulgent. Instead of ice cream or pie or other fattening, high-sugar treats, go for typical baby finger food treats like graham crackers, 'Nilla wafers and animal crackers.
