The Mom Wiki at Type-A Mom and the Dad Wiki at Type-A Dad accept submissions of articles from anyone. If you regularly contribute, you can get a free ad on this site.

You do not have to spend time with query letters, pitching ideas only to get them rejected or ignored, and other similar annoyances of getting your writing published. In fact, you can submit an article right now.

Here are some of the benefits of writing for this site:

• If you commit to and write an article per week, you will get a free 120x240 ad in the banner rotation that appears on all pages. I would be happy to create an ad for you, if you need assistance.
• You can include relevant affiliate links in your articles to generate income. The approved affiliates are Amazon, Commision Junction, Linkshare, Share Results, Performics and Cafe Press. Those affiliate programs include hundreds of companies and thousands of products, and you can email me to request more. Be sure you check the affiliate link guidelines before using affiliate links.
• If you currently have a Web site or blog, you can simply go to your user preferences to link to it in your profile and create a personal user wiki page for self-promotion. You can also include a bio blurb with a link to your site in italics at the bottom of each article. This not only increases your exposure, but inbound links will boost your rankings with Google.
• You will get training on Web writing, SEO, blogging and online self-promotion. I have been writing for the Web and creating Web sites since the early 1990s.

On the downside (isn't there always a downside?), this is a start-up. I am Kelby Carr, the Type-A Mom, a writer with more than 15 years of experience and a mother of three.

My ultimate mission with this site is to make it possible for moms and dads who wish to work from home to earn a livable income as a freelance writer for this site. My reality is that this site is not run by a company, it does not have investors, and the only money to keep it going comes from what I have leftover after daycare, diapers and food (as in, not much).

The site was just established in April, and it will take some time to make money. I have an extremely limited budget to pay writers. I don't believe writers should have to work for free, so I am working hard to change that. Supporting this site by telling your mom and dad friends, or by supporting the advertisements, is a great way to help. When it does start earning money, I will look to existing writers first when establishing an expansive group of paid writers.
