I am very excited to announce a contest with our new advertiser and Type-A Mom supporter, The Sister Project. It will provide one mom blogger with a chance to attend the Type-A Mom Conference, and to connect with a sisterhood of fellow mom bloggers.

First prize: Personal-expense sponsorship for the Type A Mom Conference, Asheville, NC, Sept. 24-26, 2009, including hotel, transportation and meal allowance (maximum of $750 total), plus conference registration. $900 value.

Second prize: $150 Visa gift card.

Third prize: $75 Visa gift card.

The Sister Project is a blog network or family of related blogs: sister blogs, you might say. The 4 founding TSP "sisters," all writers by profession, explore the many facets of the word sister, and the concept of sisterhood, from twins or older-younger, to sister to a brother, to sister-in-law, or in-friendship, or in-feminism. Whatever "sister" means to you, they're interested.

Blogging together as The Sister Project has made them as close as sisters, they realize, and they suspect that no group of bloggers is closer-knit or a bigger digital sisterhood than those known as mom-bloggers. So here's the challenge:

Entry deadline: 6 PM EST Friday, July 31.

Post your entry on your own blog, and include a link to the official entry form page on Type-A Mom as well as The Sister Project.

Important: Use the form below to submit a link to your entry, so judges will see it.

Winners to be announced August 15. Yes, members, writers and editors of Type-A Mom may enter! The label "mommyblogger" need not apply. If you're a woman and you blog, you can enter!

Winning entries will be selected by the TSP founders, plus three new sister-friends they're also sponsoring to the conference. Together that team of seven blogger judges will choose an eighth: the newest sister to help connect The Sister Project and Type-A Mom. No guys from an accounting firm required: a true jury of your peers.

Entries will be evaluated on:

• Quality of the writing and/or images;
• Originality and creativity;
  
• And enthusiasm counts, too. The Sister Project was founded by Margaret Roach, former editorial director of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, in November 2008 to explore the meanings of sisterhood. Type-A Mom, the brainchild of Kelby Carr, a site designed to be created and maintained by the real know-it-alls in parenting-the moms-was founded in April 2007.

All entries may be used promotionally and editorially by The Sister Project and Type-A Mom.

Additional Rules

1. Contest is open to all U.S. and Canada residents where legal under local statutes.
2. No purchase necessary.
3. Valid email address required. Entries with email addresses visible to the public will be deleted and are not valid.
4. Valid entries will be received and be posted live on entrant's blog beginning 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time July 15, 2009 and ending July 31, 2009 at 6 p.m. EST.
   
5. Winners will be announced by August 15.
6. Winner will be notified via their profile email address and have 3 days to respond
7. The prize will be awarded via covered expenses to attend Type-A Mom Conference, and do not have an alternative cash value. The winner agrees in exchange to represent The Sister Project at the Type-A Mom Conference from the dates Sept. 23-26, 2009.
   
8. The prize will be awarded via prepaid airfare, hotel, food allowance and registration not to exceed $900 in total value. Any excess costs to attend the conference are the sole responsibility of the winner.
   
9. You must have a blog to enter and to qualify to win this contest.
10. Know all of the Contest Rules and Conditions before you enter.
